Rockers ready to play for Oscar

THE campaign to raise cash for a disabled Kingswinford boy is getting a boost from chart topping rockers.

Stars from the Stourbridge music scene are preparing for a gig to support young Oscar Fradgley who suffers from the rare condition Hanahart Syndrome.

Oscar, from Cot Lane, was born with no hands or feet, a shortened tongue, facial palsy and heart problems.

The fundraising show in Stourbridge, at The Rock Cafe 2000, Mill Race Lane, will include sets from rock band Vile Evils, featuring former members of Pop Will Eat Itself, Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff and guest DJ Jonn Penny, frontman from Ned's Atomic Dustbin.

The gig, which may also feature unannounced special guests, is set for Saturday June 9, a significant date for Oscar who will also be celebrating his fourth birthday on the day.

Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Friends of Oscar fund which provides prosthetic limbs at a cost of £7,000 every nine months, adaptations to his home and specialised equipment.

Oscar's dad Chris, who played in bands from the town during the late 80's, says every penny raised helps secure his son's future.

Chris said: "It's great that the famous names from Stourbridge have come forward to raise money for such a good cause."

"We're humbled by people's generosity, we feel privileged to be his parents and want to thank everyone who has donated money.

"We couldn't do what we do without all their continued support."
