A CONCERT in aid of a Kingswinford tot born without hands or feet has raised over £15,000.
Nearly 500 people packed out the Stourbridge Town Hall for Oscar's Proms', in aid of three year-old Oscar Fradgley, who suffers from the rare disorder Hanahart Syndrome.
The evening included a performance of the Les Miserables song On My Own' by London School of Musical Theatre student Beth Dunn.
Due to ill health, Radio 2 DJ Don MacLean MBE was forced to step down as Master of Ceremonies, leaving concert organiser Chris Dunn to step into his shoes at the last minute.
Oscar's parents, Chris and Lisa Fradgley, have launched a campaign to raise £100,000 to pay for lightweight carbon fibre prosthetic legs, so Oscar can lead as active a life as possible.
His father, Chris, said: "We're humbled by people's generosity.
"The prosthetic legs are very expensive and will need replacing at a cost of £7,000 every nine months, but cheques are arriving practically everyday.
" We feel privileged to be his parents and want to thank everyone who has donated money. We couldn't do what we do without all their continued support."
An auction in the interval raised £2,075.
Among lots was lunch with Leicester Tigers chairman Sir Digby Jones, match tickets and a meet and greet with the players which fetched £400. Corporate hospitality and refreshments at Wolves versus Birmingham City on April 22 was bought for £120 by MP Lynda Waltho.
A DVD of the evening will soon be available to buy and the next fundraising event for Oscar will be Vile Evils (ex Pop Will Eat Itself) plus special guests at the Stourbridge Rock Café on June 9.
